Daily Prompt: Childhood Revisited

That’s right, we’re introducing weekend prompts — let no day go uninspired!

What is your earliest memory? Describe it in detail, and tell us why you think that experience was the one to stick with you.

I wish i remembered more than what i have seen in snapshots, as mentioned in the Obit post yesterday i was born with heart problems so i don’t recall a lot of that early time. Perhaps when i was around four years of age and living in the Seaside town of Bussleton Western Australia. I recall being in hospital although can’t recall why. I remember the train my grandfather drove on the Jetty and the boat my dad would go out in, and we would wave to my grandfather from the boat. I don’t know why its stuck with me but it has, perhaps it was more from being spoken about later on than an actual memory as such. i recall around that age having a cat, but i don’t know what happened to it or who’s it was.

Photos above are from a much earlier time.

  1. Early memories are often foggy. It also doesn’t help when you have a family who spend ten minutes trying to remind you about that time you were all somewhere only to remember that actually you weren’t there after all and that’s why you can’t remember.
It’s a lovely little photo as well.
